Adult Programs

Part of the way  New Song carries out its mission of seeking God and creating community is by offering meaningful adult programs.  Current and past offerings are described below.  You do not need to be a member of New Song to participate in one or more of these groups.  Information about these and other vents are listed in the Sunday bulletin insert or you may e-mail the church for more details:  newsong@kc.rr.com.  Be sure to check the calendar link as dates of some monthly meetings are adjusted on months with holidays or other special events.

Small Groups

Women’s Spirituality: An informal interfaith sharing group which meets the fourth Thursday of each month in Resurrection House from 6:30-8:00 PM.  Women with different faith backgrounds discuss their questions about faith and their faith stories in a confidential setting.  All women are welcome.  Questions? Contact Kristin Dow: kristin@newsongkc.org.

Friday Night Dinner & Movie: A fun and thought-provoking evening including a meal and watching a movie together, followed by discussion of the movie topic.  This event is scheduled periodically and meets at the church.  Click on the calendar link to find the next movie date.

Simplicity Circle: New Song Church hosts a Circle of Simplicity that meets in Resurrection House on the second Thursday of each month.  We are following the model set out by Cecile Andrews in her book, “The Circle of Simplicity: Return to the Good Life” as the guide for our monthly meetings.  The intent is to build a community that educates and supports each other in our efforts to simplify our lives in all expressions of our lives.

In addition to the monthly meetings we are providing leadership for several annual projects, including the collection of household hazardous waste, the collection and disposal of large household items, developing a composting site on the church property,  cleaning the ditches along Sam Ray Road and collecting, repairing and distributing children’s bicycles.

The group is open to all who are interested in simplifying their lives.  Click on calendar link to see when our next meeting time is.
