Our
Mission
Seeking God, Creating Community, and Serving Humanity
We
seek God in our quest for deeper spiritual understanding.
Through an honest
sharing of our beliefs and doubts, we ask challenging questions
that surround our Christian journey.
We create community through our openness. We acknowledge
that each person is uniquely created by God and we welcome
all people into this faith community.
We serve humanity by practicing peace and justice,
working with all of God’s creation toward wholeness
in our larger community, nation, and the world.
Our Vision
“To be a new kind of church that enriches lives, creates
community, and connects us with God and all of Creation.”
Our Core Beliefs and Practices
• We stand firmly in the Christian
faith tradition, acknowledging the ministry of Jesus as a
way to deepen our relationship with God. We also affirm other
faith traditions, and realize that they, too are a way toward
a closer intimacy with the Creator.
• We believe that the love of God and
the love of neighbor are at the very core of what it means
to be Christian.
• We affirm the gifts of the Spirit
in all persons, recognizing that every Christian is a minister,
empowered to do God’s work and carry out Jesus’
teachings.
• We embrace diversity by: acknowledging
that all people are created in God’s own image, and
understanding that we all see and experience God in different
ways.
• We celebrate communion weekly, believing
it to be central to our worship. And just as we believe that
we are all accepted by God, we too, welcome all people to
Christ’s table.
• We believe that Baptism is a gift
from God that connects us to the life and teachings of Jesus.
As a faith community affiliated with the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ), we recognize all forms of Christian
Baptism.
